Los Alisos MUN/History Club
WHAT IS MUN?
UN combines research, negotiation, and debate skills. The program gives you the opportunity to step into the shoes of ambassadors from UN member states and discuss current issues on the organization’s vast agenda. As a delegate you will represent a UN member nation and discuss topics in committee such as child labor and land mines. The goal of our club is to teach you the skills to be a successful delegate. After a few months of training you will have the opportunity to page at our conference in February.

Why is MUN such a great program?
- Improves your research and public speaking skills.
- Gives you confidence to speak up and articulate your thoughts in a coherent manner.
- Looks great on your high school resume. Many of our students get into top colleges and some continue MUN in college. (i.e. Stanford, UCLA, UC Berkeley, and USC)
- The program provides an awesome fraternity of friends. You will be with the same group of students throughout high school. You attend conferences together and bond as you discuss and debate world issues.
- If you continue all four years in high school you receive a special graduation cord and you get your name in the program.
- Prepares you to become an IB student since global politics is part of the IB curriculum.
- You become a better global citizen!
