Roast Guidelines
- Roasts are a great way to prepare for upcoming conferences and also get some last-minute feedback on ways you can improve your speeches. Bring your speech notes from the roast to the conference, and you’ll already have your first speech pre-written!
- Roast speeches must be typed up and will be checked on the day of the roast, for points in your class gradebook. Write your main ideas as bullet points; minimum length is half a page long. Even if you prefer giving impromptu speeches, we want you to practice delivering at least one pre-written speech for the conference.
- Roasts will be held normally in Mrs. Geiger’s room (404) or MPR, on the Friday before a conference, at tutorial (Freshmen and Sophomores) or during 6th period (Juniors and Seniors). Any other details or changes will be announced by Communications. Dates for the roasts can also be found on the calendar.
